Government


Monroe Township is a second class township formed in 1825 encompassing 26.8 square miles and a population of 5,823 as listed by the 2010 Census.  Geographically, Monroe Township is one of the southern tier townships of Cumberland County.  The Township is governed by a 3 member Board of Supervisors.  


NOTICE OF HEARING

The Monroe Township Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The following Request for Conditional Use approval will be heard:        

Applicant:         Mike Nolan – Earth Spring Farm

Property:           366 Stought Road
                                Carlisle, PA  17015

Parcel No.:         22-11-0282-002

Owner:                 Michael G. Nolan and Diem Nguyen

Applicant is requesting Conditional Use approval for a solar array of approximately 6,645 sq. ft. on the above property located in the Agricultural zoning district.

Additionally, this matter will be before the Monroe Township Planning Commission at its regularly scheduled meeting on July 11, 2018, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Board of Supervisors’ hearing and the Planning Commission’s meeting will be held at the Monroe Township Municipal Building, 1220 Boiling Springs Road, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania 17055.

All interested parties are urged to attend. The aforementioned application and plans are available for inspection by the public at the Monroe Township Municipal Building during regular business hours.
