Monroe Township is a second class township formed in 1825 encompassing 26.8 square miles and a population of 5,823 as listed by the 2010 Census.  Geographically, Monroe Township is one of the southern tier townships of Cumberland County.  The Township is governed by a 3 member Board of Supervisors.  


                                                                                       NOTICE OF HEARING

The Monroe Township Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, November 8, 2018, beginning at 6:00 p.m.  The following Request for Conditional Use Relief will be heard:

          Property:    1554 Williams Grove Road
                               Mechanicsburg, PA 17055

          Parcel No.:  22-31-2156-019

Applicant is requesting conditional use relief for the property located in the Agricultural Zoning district.  The relief requested is to allow the property to be used for a venue for special events and weddings, including catering.

Additionally, this matter will be before the Monroe Township Planning Commission at its regularly scheduled meeting on November 7, 2018.

The Board of Supervisors’ hearing will be held at the Monroe Township Municipal Building, 1220 Boiling Springs Road, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania 17055.

All interested parties are urged to attend.  The aforementioned application and plans are available for inspection by the public at the Monroe Township Municipal Building during regular business hours.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Board of Supervisors of Monroe Township will hold a Public Hearing at 7:00pm on November 8, 2018, to consider a proposal for the creation of and the addition to the Agricultural Security Area within Monroe Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, pursuant to the Agricultural Area Security Law (Act 43 of 1981, as amended).  The proposal was submitted by: Marian R. Deckman Living Trust, by Trustees Marian R. Deckman and Donald E. Deckman for a total number of acreage of 57.5 +/- and having a tax parcel number of 22-11-0280-0290D.

 The proposals are currently on file and available for public inspection at the Monroe Township Municipal Building, 1220 Boiling Springs Road, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania 17055, during normal business hours.

 Any local government unit encompassing or adjacent to the proposed areas, or any landowner who owns the lands proposed to be included within the proposed area, or any landowner with lands adjacent or near the proposed areas who wishes such lands to be included or not included therein, may propose modifications of the proposed areas.  Objections to the proposals, and proposed modifications to the proposed must be filed with Monroe Township and the Monroe Township Planning Commission at the address set forth above within fifteen (15) days of the date of publication of the notice.

 At the termination of the fifteen (15) day period, the proposals and proposed modifications will be submitted to the Monroe Township Planning Commission for its’ October 3, 2018, meeting at 6:30PM, and the Agricultural Security Area Advisory Committee for its’ October 3, 2018, meeting at 6:00PM.  Thereafter a Public Hearing before the Board of Supervisors, as set forth above, will be held on the proposals, proposed modifications and recommendations of the Planning Commission and advisory committee.

 The Public Hearing and all other Hearings/Meetings will take place at the Monroe Township Municipal Building located at 1220 Boiling Springs Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
